An accurate, economical, single patient use device with multiple applications.

Salter Disposable Spirometer is used at the bedside to accurately measure pulmonary variables associated with screening, monitoring, and weaning patients. Because of its unique design, Salter Disposable Spirometer replaces the less efficient and non-disposable equipment usually associated with respiratory care. It is neither temperamental nor expensive as are many other volume collection devices. With the Salter Disposable Spirometer, the clinician can easily and repeatably monitor life support system volumes, screen patients for therapy, and have an effective means to wean patients by accurately tracking the physiologic parameters. The Salter Disposable Spirometer can be used to determine the following pulmonary data on most patients: VT, VE, VC, FVC, VC/FVC. End Tidal Sampling, Inspiratory and Expiratory Pressures and even mean expiratory flow can be estimated by using a stop watch. Salter Percent-O2-Lock Venturi System 8150
The Percent-O2-Lock air entrainment oxygen mask includes a rotating sleeve, opening and closing an air-entrainment window. This provides the ability to deliver seven fixed oxygen concentrations to a spontaneously breathing patient. Concentration levels are easily dialed and locked in. The "dial in" air entrainment assembly is affixed to a standard aerosol mask. A high humidity adapter permits use of a nebulizer with mask if prescribed.

To change a setting, pull the sleeve back until the spring is completely compressed. Then turn the sleeve to the prescribed setting.

The high humidity adapter fits over and is pushed on until it locks on the post extending away from the tip of the cone. Caution: THE HUMIDIFYING OR NEBULIZING DEVICE MUST BE DRIVEN BY COMPRESSED AIR.
Releasing the sleeve and spring "forces" the sleeve into its setting. The spring also locks the sleeve into place.

Where analysis of PETCO2 and other exhaled gases is a standard medical practice in anesthesia, monitoring of non-intubated patients is limited. Supplemental oxygen, delivered by mask or conventional cannula, tends to dilute end tidal gases and distort waveforms.

Salter Labs End Tidal Sampling Products
In clinical tests PaCO2 gradients were quantitatively similar to those found in intubated patients. Practitioner constructed cannula modifications are time consuming, cumbersome and expensive: furthermore, there is no certainty of the integrity of the procedure. The Salter Divided Cannula is a practical effective way to improve the integrity of end tidal monitoring on the non-intubated patient. The Salter Divided Cannula has a permanent barrier in the face piece separating the nasal prongs. Dual tubing is used which allows delivery of oxygen or gaseous analgesia from one nasal prong and simultaneous end-tidal sampling from the other nasal prong.
Both nasal prongs also have exclusive, dual port, Salter Eyes which reduce the likelihood of occlusion. This innovative safe design gives End Tidal wave form monitoring quality equal to that obtained with intubated patients. The Salter Divided Cannula is available in sizes from infant to adult and a variety of connections to permit use with virtually any CO2 monitor in use today.
